Ooh, thanks for the advice on the job thing. I had read something about that earlier on the forum, but I was still unsure. especially seeing how many people seem to be currently applying for their ancestry visa.

Well. M'boy is flying in end of next month from England, so I'll finish my application before he gets here so we can go to Edmonton together, and then celebrate (we hope!) my acceptance with a nice dinner together. Haha.

Congrats to all those approved recently. Smile

riverfox and madcatx2. I have one quick question! How long did it take from you submitting your application (applying online) to getting a phonecall saying to do your biometric//booking and doing your biometric to getting approved?

I wanna know how soon I should apply in advance.

So just a general timeline. thanks!

Right i got a reply from worldbridge, but tbh im not entirely sure if it was useful. They basically just said that the login information timed out after 7 days. Not if the application would still be open.should i assume this means its fine if its just the login thats not working? All we wanted to do was change his leave date etc N check everything was correct.

Also.hehe they caled me madam >.>;

This is the actual email. Tbh i don't THINK they answered my question ("Will the forms and GWF Referance number i obtained 8 months ago still be valid now?")

Thank you for submitting your email enquiry. In answer to your question,we would like to inform of the following:
You can find your online application form during 7 days, after this periodof time, it will automatically disappear and there is no need to cancelthe application. Whenever you want, you can fill another application formand complete all the process.
Note: Your incomplete Visa Application will only be kept for 7 days.If you do not Login to complete the Application within 7 days it will bedeleted and you will need to apply again.
You may apply for a refund of the fees that you were charged. Thiswill require proof of payment, such as a copy of the page of yourapplication showing your payment, or a copy of your credit card receipt, together with a written refund request. You should send these by mail tothe post citing the amount you paid. You should include yourGWF reference number received from your online application process. Therefund will be applied to the credit card you used to make the payment.

Thank you again for contacting WorldBridge.

Any thoughts?

Tigerlea - You can make a biometric appointment as soon as you have submitted your online application. They will not phone you but I believe if you don't make your appointment within a week of submitting yyour application you will recieve a reminder e-mail requesting you make an appointment.

I made my appointment directly after I submitted my application. You can make your appointment for up to two weeks in advance of the date you access the world bridge site. Once an appointment is made you CAN cancel and reschedule, so don't feel pressured by it.

Once I had my appointment I mailed off my documents the same day via priority courier, and they reached Ottawa two days later. The day they recieved my documents my visa was authorized and I recieved my visa back in the mail the day after that.

It all happened really quickly once I submitted the information.

Calster -- what they are talking about is saved information for an application NOT an application that has already been submitted and paid for. At least that's what it sounds like in the first paragraph.

However they DID offer a refund which is a good thing, but it also means it's critical that your boyfriend have his mom check for the confirmation e-mail. I'm pretty sure that they will not give you a refund of fees without the GWF number which would have been issued when he submitted his application. This number is how they track all transactions, (Found this out from the lady at my biometrics appointment ). Without it I'm not certain there will be anything that they can do.

Perhaps you could ask them if there was any way to retrieve the number as the e-mail was unfortunately lost. I *doubt* they'll do it as it probably comes down to being a security issue, but you can always try.

I think at this point he ought to apply for the refund if he can and start again from scratch.

Can't say as I'm surprised.

If you have the gwf number I would just apply for the refund. If you can it seems easier than seeing if they can track down the application. However you guys will just have to make the judgement call for yourselves. Smile Sad

- did anybody include a copy of a College diploma?
- should i include a copy of bank statement (like a printout from online td canadatrust
- should i say I'm going to live with my family to start?
- how much detail did you go into about prior trips?
