They have little mats that you can use to lie on so its not bad . the beachs are so full in the summer its amazing . bar wise there is something like 360 ish bars in the towns that make up the Brighton area . Hove, Brighton and East Kemp . East Kemp has the highest gay population in England so you can imagine that the town parties hard, I've never actually been to that side of town but I've been warned not to walk there late at night in my pink shirt Wink

Its a fantastic city to bar crawl in as everything is stumbling distance to everything else haha . and yes on weekends it gets crowded when all the Londoners leave town to go there . if you come down we'll have to meet up and I can take to my fav haunts . but as a loose guide, you want to visit . Ocean Rooms, Digital, Concorde2, Honeyclub, Funka Buddha, Pu Na Nas and Sky Bar (uber Fancy) are all decent Clubs, bar wise there are sooo many, SugaQube is great, the Heist is fancy, Freemasons is nice as well, Santa Fay is ritzy, Casablanca is unique. their dj booth is a VW bug! hah . Anyhow its great for a weekend out . it basically never shuts down over a weekend so always something to do .

There's a little cocktail lounge on western road near waitrose which is supposed to be quite nice too. I've had it recommended to me by a couple of people but it's not really a *dance* place.

Went to ZootStreet shortly before I left. wouldn't recommend it really, the place was a little dingy and drink selection was awful. They also played a mix of 'popular songs' which sounded like the mini pops trying to sing punk.

Not that I'm critical or anything.

You get used to the pebbly beaches. while the sand is much nicer, it still is nice you just can't build a sand castle. Only a real castle. Very Happy

You can rent lawn chairs if you like and if you go far enough into hove a number of people have little beach house type things.

You mentioned the sponsorship form, I believe I found it . did you have your friend send you the completed form and then send it in with it?

Riverfox. you just managed to give me the image of my boyfriend and I on the pebbly beaches--me tanning, and my boyfriend hunched over a little stone castle he's managed to build with all those little lovely pebbles from the beach. Razz It is a -very cute- image!

Brighton does sound absolutely lovely, and I'll definately keep all those places to check out on a list somewhere. Thanks for all the advice. ^-^

Tes -- Actually he was the one that found the form and filled it in. Smile As far as we know they didn't actually verify any of the information but they did keep the sponsorship form on file. Smile He also sent me his Denplan form and voter registration card to verify the address for them.

LOL -- I don't know your boyfriend Tiger but I can kind of imagine it in an abstract way too. Except in mine he's already built the castle and is peering over the ramparts at you.

Okay so I've got almost everything set before I get my fingerprints done on Friday . does anybody know how much time I have to actually send everything in? I'm waiting for my sponsorship form to arrive from the courier (I've just been told they've been delayed), I was hoping to just give everything to the people at the fingerprinting place but now it looks as thought I'll have to wait till next week to send it out . depending on how late the thing is . I hate her majesties royal mail service. so all that rant . time . weeks, month(s) . my online form was submitted Jan 31 and fingerprints will be Feb 15 .

I guess I should say . can I even send it myself . or must I give it to the fingerprinting people . if thats the case I'll have to push it all back . or send it without . and add in a letter that its coming and I can send it on when it arrives .

I have to ask.

What is this 'sponsorship form' you're talking about? I don't have one of those nor have I heard of them. I'm fairly sure they're not necessary. but if they are, I should probably find that out and get one. >.>

I'm with Tigerlea.sponsorship form? Is that needed for an ancestry visa? If so, I'll need to know where to get one.I didn't see anything on that. The only thing I can think of close to that is that I'm getting my boyfriend to send in a letter saying I can live with him rent-free when I go over to proove that I have a place to stay and won't drain govt funds, etc etc.
