Heylow,

Sorry should have checked this thread earlier. Tes you have 10 days from the time you submit your biometric data to get your info in. You do have to give it to the Biometric people though so they can verify you have all your information in order and seal it in the envelope. YOU can add to your application by putting additional information in the same packet as the envelope they seal but do not break the seal on the envelope or it will invalidate your application.

As for the sponsorship form,it isn't listed as a necessary document. However IT has been requested from some individuals and some have been turned down for lack of it. This mostly seems to occur when the individual in question doesn't have what they deem to be adequate funds to support themselves overseas.

I have enough funds, but I thought it best to cover all bases and had someone fill it out for me. He e-mailed visa services in the UK and they directed him towards it so i 'm not exactly sure where it's located except to say that I think the form itself is on the UKVisas site.

riverfox. If he was directed to it, would he still have in his inbox where it is? Would you be able to ask him? Because if he does, I think that will be really useful for many of the people looking to get their visa's, as an extra precaution. Could you find out and then link us? Smile

Yah I'm covering all my bases as well (riverfox talked about it earlier so I went with it), I have a bit over 10k in my savings account, but I figure I'm not gonna take any chances with it . so I'll send it out next week when it arrives . I looked at my application and I did select "by post" under submission method so thats all right.

Wow 10k sounds like a lot! Do you need that much? I just graduated from university last year and have only been working for about 6 months. do you think 5k would be enough for a person in my situation?

Is the only reason some people had been refused without the sponsorship form 'cause they didn't have enough money? I'm fairly certain 10k (even converted to 5k) will be a fine amount for your application, especially if you aren't paying rent.

I'm not too worried about not having the sponsorship form if that's the case.

Also, happy belated V-day!

I'm not 100% sure about the refusal. I'm just going with what I've heard from a few people. They heard back from Ottawa with a request for some sort of proof of accomodation. This can be done with a sponsorship form of some sort. By the same token I do know of people that have just had a letter or e-mail from whomever they were staying with and that sufficed when they included it in the package.

I think that other people have also simply included the information for the hotel they intended to stay at.

The bottom line I believe is being able to prove that you have a place to stay while you are over there. The sponsorship form merely verifys that you have someone there willing to help you out and give you a place to stay.

As for money as long as you have enough to support yourself for 3 months you should be okay. The amount is not set in stone, but you'll have to do your math and figure out approximately how much money you would need to do this.

It all depends on what sort of lifestyle you expect to lead while over there. In my opinion and this is opinion only I would think the minimum would be between 2000 - 3000 pounds. So that would be approximately 4000 - 6000 canadian.

You'll have to use your best judgement though.
