Thanks riverfox and madcatx2. It doesn't sound that difficult I suppose, and I'll be applying end of February so I have time to make sure my bank account is nice and full.

Also my boyfriend will be flying in from England, so he'll be coming with me to Edmonton. Very Happy Great fun.

Is there anything else you think we should know with our applications just as kind of. "bonus information"? Otherwise I think I'm pretty much ready, but still terrified about applying without an actual job or job offer over in England.

Presuming you submit the app online you'll get an e-mail confirming that your application is sent in and reminding you to make your appointment. You will then need to go to http://www.visainfoservices.com and click on the 'Make a Biometrics appointment' hyperlink. Once you've followed the link you'll need to enter the number you were sent on completeing your application plus your name and some security verification thing.

After that you will be prompted to select a date etc. for your appointment. Smile Don't worry too much it will be fine.

Hey, thanks for the link there - will be a big help.

Small panick though, my boyfriends worrying that his form will be out of date since they changed the rules (im trying to convince him otherwise) And he doesn't think he got a number when he applied online either (ive tried telling him to calm down and check the form but it turns out his mothers got it.somewhere.and isnt giving up the information!)

How long ago did he apply online? I think the number is e-mailed to him with the confirmation of receipt. Sooo. Shouldn't it have been sent to his e-mail? At least for the number.

He'll probably have to reapply, unless he sent in everything at that time (passport, etc.)

Perhaps try calling the registry office (there is a number somewhere, sorry, at work, can't look for it) and ask if the original application was received, and then send in the rest along with it, because of already paying the fee. More than likely they'll say he'll still have to do the biometric thing, but I'm not sure about the rest. They may or may not accept it.
