Has anyone recently applied for a Tier 1 General Visa through Worldbridge in Canada? Just wondering how long the turn-around was once the documents had been mailed to the High Commission in Ottawa.

More specifically has anyone applied for a Tier 1 visa from a Holidaymaker visa ? How did it go ?

Thanks!

Hey, received an email September 10th that my docuemnts have arrived and are being processed. They say it typically takes 5 working days but I haven't heard anything since the original email.

Thanks atb,

Please keep us inform of when you’ll received your documents back … I wish for you that this will be soon!

Just to be sure I understand well the application process from Canada with WorldBridge, can you confirm that this is the right application steps :

1. Submit your online application through visa4uk web site
2. Mail your supporting documents to claim your points to the Home Office
3. Wait to receive the approval letter for your Tier 1 visa
4. Schedule an appointment for the biometrics enrolment
5. Mail your documents to the British High Commission in Ottawa
6. Wait to receive your visa stamped in your passport

If this is the correct application process, how much time did it took you to get your approval letter ?

Thanks,

Hey, I applied for the Tier 1 General Migrant Visa.

The process was:

1) Fill out online application
2) Setup a biometrics appointment
3) Go to biometrics appointment with all supporting docs, passport, printed application, and a passport photo
4) At the appointment they do their thing and pack all your documents into an envelope and seal it with a stamp
5) Mail envelope to British High Comission in Ottawa within 2 weeks
6) Wait to receive stamped passport

Just so people have an idea of my timing, received an email saying 'entry clearance issued' today.

So timing was about 16 working days from receiving the first email.

hi!
I took a 3 weeks vacation from my job in Paris to come and apply in Ottawa mid-October. I'm scared now that I won't get my passport back in time. Even thouh I asked Worldbridge and they answered : "Straightforward postal applications are normally processed within 5 working days excluding mail time. This is subject to seasonal delays."

atb, was your application complicated ?

Nope, as far as I know it was a straight forward application. I believe they are supposed to email you if it's considered a complicated application.

16 working days is not that bad . I was expecting worst than that !

I have to come back to Canada for that too . but from London.

jadezia, since you live in France can't you apply from there ? It's outside UK .
