Time line for a Tier 2 Visa

Hi,

My name is Bryan and am originally from Hamilton Ontario and am currently working on getting a tier 2 General visa.

I have been living in working in the UK for a year and a half on a tier 5 youth mobility visa been working for a company immediate after arriving a year and a half ago. The company am working for want to sponsor me to continue working for them and have recently sponsored me for a correspondence graduate degree am taking based at a German university.

How long does the tier 2 visa process usually take?

And does the fact that the company am working for is sponsoring my graduate studies help with my illegibility to get a tier 2 visa.
