CBP has verified additional TN's under part-time employment are fine but being petitioned down to the U.S. initially for just a part-time job sounds dangerous. We know in the past CBP has turned petitioners away at the border due to low salary or insufficient income to support oneself. That is the only point I was trying to make besides the fact it seems just a bit odd as most NAFTA occupations are full-time positions.

Indeed, part-time TNs are genearlly only awarded to those who either demonstrate sufficient ties in canada -- including a current job, or already have one or more TNs.
Since Cdn ties would need to be maintained, that is why I suggested that she simply work form canada or enter on B1.
