TN-1 status - Computer Systems Analyst

Post Mon Mar 29, 2010 3:52 pm

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if someone could give me some insight on what my chances are of getting my TN-1 status.

I have an offer for a Computer Systems Analyst position and I have a Bachelor degree, but the degree is Bachelor of Arts, Information Technology. Would this be sufficient to satisfy the requirements even though it's not specifically Computer Science. (Although I think I.T. would be a closer match?)

The other issue is that the degree doesn't specifically say Information Technology anywhere on it. What backup documents would I need to ensure that I provide enough proof of my major?

Thanks

Just in case anyone was wondering.

My TN was approved. Have nothing but good things to say about CPB and the officer who processed mine. As long as you have all your documents in order it should go through smoothly

Both the case law and post 9/11 memo directives issued to the Class A ports of entry insist that the degree for TN Status be in the field or be in a related field. Thus a BA in Information Technology is an eligible degree for obtaining TN.
