TN-1 visa - what do I need as proof of my degree?

This may be a silly question, but what can I use as proof of my degree. My degrees have been framed - do I have to tote those along with me? Or do I have to get a special letter from my universities...

When I applied for my TN, all I had was my framed degree, so I brought it with me. They do want the degree with the seal on it. Every document they see they want them as official as possible especially in this day and age where anybody can create anything with a good printer.

Yes, they will want to see the original document.

Though its not required, if you have your transcripts bring it and show it as further proof if required. In most cases, this is just a precaution.

Good Luck

Photocopy of the degree is fine, CBP only requires, and should only require an original support letter.

We've heard of people being denied because they did not have the original degree. They were asked to comeback with the orginals.

Its better to be safe than sorry.

You have been given various answers, let us know what you decided and what happened.

Good Luck!

I would definitely bring the orignal copy of your degree along with official transcripts.

When I went, I just had my degree but they wanted to see my transcripts to see what courses I took.

It is very subjective and I am sure every person has different experiences depending which category you fall under. But as said above.better safe than sorry!

What if you don't have a degree and you are using experience in place? How do you prove that other than a resume?
I have an offer from a US employer and want to make sure I have everything right! If they haven't done a TN1 letter before - how can we find an example?

I don't think on the job experience equivalency is allowed for a TN, only a degree in the field for the job you are offered.
