Hi,
I was terminated from my job while I was on TN status. I am not too familiar with all the info I am reading about now, i.e. I had 10 days to return back home after termination. What happens if I am passed this time? Can I still get a job elsewhere?

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You can but there is a risk of being denied because of the out of status period. It is probably too late to attempt to switch to B-2 status to 'wind down your affairs'.

How long since you left your job? Has the expiration date of the I-94 passed yet--you're still out of status even if it hasn't passed but it may attract less scrutiny if it has not passed, plus you won't risk a statutory bar until six months after it passes?

Basically you have two options:

1. Move back to Canada for awhile until you re-establish Canadian residency and try again.

2. Get a new TN job as soon as possible (assuming you aren't subject to the bar), but expect to be honest at the border. But recognize that you have to be honest--there is a good chance there will just let you through but there is also a risk that they will deny you because of the overstay--which will put you back with option #1.
