I am a canadian and I am working here in USA on TN visa. I got a job offer from another employer and I have some questions in this regard:

1- Can I keep 2 tn visas at the same time? I wanna get the tn visa first from the second employer and then wanna give first employer 15 days notice.

2- If yes, is the proceedure to get the second tn visa is the same as the first one. I got the first tn visa stamped from Buffalo border. Do I need to go to the border to get the second tn visa stamped on my passport? Do I need to surrender the first tn visa if I get the second tn visa from employer b.

3- My wife is a Pakistani citizen and she does not have any Canadian status. She is not a canadian citizen and she is not a landed immigrant in Canada. She is here in USA on td visa and her visa is valid through Dec 04, 2008. She got her td visa from US consulate in Pakistan. If I change my tn visa, is it necessary for her to change her td visa.

4- If its necessary for her to change the td visa, is there any possibility that she can change her td visa within USA. I dont wanna send her back to Pakistan for visa change as it is a long and complicated process.

I will really appreciate your help in this regard.

Regards,

Salman Ahmed

I am in the exact same spot, but my wife is from Brazil.

I figured I would fly up to Vancouver, get my visa, and she would come down 2 days later.

Unfortunately, there is an 8 week backlog across Canada for an Embassy visits! I tried every Embassy in Canada and they were all booked solid! They can't even help until I get an appointment and they won't book appointments more than 8 weeks out. Essentially it means trying every day to get an appointment 8 weeks out. Brazils Embassy has over 3 months waiting at every one!

Did you find a way for her to stay in the US and convert her Visa after you got yours?

BTW, I would recommend you get her a tourist visa for Canada as well. This way if you ever get let go, or have to leave the country you can go back there with her.

Yes you can do this.

No you can have two, you can either add the second TN with a mail in application or go back to the border.

No, as long as the nature of employment incident to your initial TN status does not change.

4- If its necessary for her to change the td visa, is there any possibility that she can change her td visa within USA. I dont wanna send her back to Pakistan for visa change as it is a long and complicated process

This is not an issue.
