TN and travel insurance to Europe?

Post Tue Aug 18, 2009 1:24 pm

Random question: I'm TN status in the US and asked for non-residency in Canada.

I will be travelling to Europe (vacations), how do I get travel insurance? Same for when I go back to Canada.

Companies like AMEX require you to be permanent resident, which I am not.

I have health coverage through my employer, but that doesn't cover oversea travel.

As to getting insurance through Canada, Blue Cross in Quebec requires you to be covered by the provincial healthcare system (RAMQ).

Any idea?

You should be able to get insurance in the US if you reside in the US. When they talk about "permanent resident" they don't necessarily mean you're an LPR, they mean it's where you ordinarily live. Unless the insurance companies in the US have gotten paranoid now as well.
Steve.
