TN denied then contract cancelled

Post Fri Feb 26, 2010 2:50 pm

Looking for help with my situation. I was sub contracted to do consulting work. My TN visa application under title of management consultant was denied due to the fact that the US firm I have a contract with provided me improper support documentation.

Now, there is a real possibility that the contract maybe canceled. Given that that is a TN denial on my file, I am rather concerned about what impact that may have on my TN applications in the future.

Does that mean I will be denied next time I apply? Anyway to remedy this situation?

Thanks

Each TN is evaluated on its own merits.
This site is a travel site and not best source for these topics:

For US/Cdn taxes and SS/CPP:forums.serbinski.com/index.php

I was denied twice, first time the CBP said that i don't have enough documentation for US comapny which gave me the contract. I went one more time with the US company documentation. But this time they said as a canadian citizen i cannot apply for TN Visa for Contract work (i had a PO, master services agreement and TN letter from the US company).
They said i have to be employed directly with the client.
Fortunately, i have got a fulltime employment with an US company immediately and this time they have approved my TN Visa for one year with the restriction that i cannot work at client locations (which they would consider as contract work with client!!!!).
