So the situation is that my husband has consulted for a Canadian company (hence, no payroll records and no L1) that now wants him to move to the US office. Seems simple enough but it feels overwhelmingly confusing.
He does not have a bachelor's degree and his profession is drilling engineering. He does have a great amount of experience that is very specialized that many people in Canada don't have let alone the US.
We were hoping to move prior to the school year, our daughter starts her first year in Kindergarten, but we were told it may take until October before our VISAs are in place.
Is there anything we can do to move earlier and start our daughter off the year in the school where we intend to live once VISAs come through.
Please help!

Not really. Even going down as a tourist is not acceptalble, as one cannot enroll in school as tourist.
In any event, missing the first month of Kindergarten is not a major setback. I started K on October 17th, and I survived.
Too bad about L1, glad I was able to alert you that it was a no-go.
