TN help for RN

I have been offered a great nursing position with the state of NY. I have my NY nursing license, Visascreen, diplomas and will be speaking with an immigration lawyer for advice on the letter of employment. I plan to leave Vancouver on April 11 with a start date of April 15th. I've had some less than pleasant experiences with land crossings (never denied entry) so thought I would go through YVR. I've been dating a US citizen for the past 4 years and am always honest about it at the border. We don't have plans to marry as that would complicate everything but we will be living together. I have a home in BC that I will rent out so I'll bring evidence of that. Any other advice? To be honest, I get sick just thinking about requesting the TN. Thanks !!
