Wow. this sounds familiar. The Officer was new. DON'T worry about the I-94. Like I said (and I know what im talking about) a new I94 will be issued if your gets taken.

IFM 15.5

(6) Procedures for Readmission.
(A) Canadians. A Canadian citizen eligible for TN classification may be readmitted to the U.S. for the
remainder of the period authorized on his or her Form I-94, without presentation of the letter or supporting
documentation described above, provided that the original intended business activities and employer(s) have
not changed. If the Canadian citizen is no longer in possession of a valid, unexpired Form I-94, the applicant
must present substantiating evidence. Substantiating evidence may be in the form of a Service fee receipt for
admission as a TN, a previously issued TN admission stamp in a passport, and a confirming letter from the U.S.
employer(s). Upon readmission, issue a new multiple entry Form I-94.

Black and white. Stamp in the Passport is enough.

Until last year a passport was not a requirement for entry on TN, so I-94 was often only proof that worker had.

Maybe I was at your POE  lol In all seriousness, I dont think the guy was new because he was in his mid-forties. Unless he's had a recent career change. He was knowleageable about the TN procedures in general, or so I felt.

He certainly doesn't compare to the CBP guy at YYZ who didn't really speak English and couldn't work his computer when I was there last year... Now that was strange :?
