Post Fri Jan 30, 2009 12:06 pm

Dear All:

Does anyone have experience renewing their TN from within the U.S.? How long does it take? Appreciate your input.

Thanks a lot.

I have been doing my renewals by mail for the last 5 years and it taken anywhere from 45 to 65 days. However, you can do premium processing for $1000. I think it takes two weeks or 10 days (something like that if it is premium). The down side of renewing by mail is that if you have any paperwork lacking you won't know till the end (60 days). That's what happened to me one year and I had to resend my paperwork and $1000 as time was running out.

I've looked into renewing my TN by mail - what forms do you need and where do you send it? I imagine the address is probably on the forms, but I couldn't find a lot of info regarding renewing by mail.
Thanks!

All,

My TN Status expires by 1st Jun 2009, last time i entered through thousand islands border. I am planning to apply for renewal through premium processing, may i have the link for the forms/details. Also for renewal, what should be the content of the offer letter, should the employer state that the original offer is extended for 3 years or it should have the same content like in the original letter and just state theat the offer is temporary for one year and possible for extension. Has any one gone through a lawyer for renewal.

Please advise.

Thanks
