TN to H1B to GC

Can anyone give some advice (or at least encouragement)regarding changing from a TN-1 to an H1B visa? I was denied in the lottery this year and told that the lottery format will be in place for the foreseeable future. I sincerely hope that there is an alternative. Thanks.

If you go to immigrationportal dot com there are some people who have managed to go from TN to green card. It is risky though, and they are currently accepting a ton of green card applications because of the lawsuit that was filed. It may mean that it will just backlog in a different place in the processing.

Thanks for the reply canuckmom. I definitely do not want to risk my current job on TN status for a more permanent status with a green card. I am surprised that a US company needing foreign workers has to cross their fingers and hope for the best in the H1B lottery. Especially if the position is really critical to their business.
