TN Visa, Accountant - Need Suggestion/Boder Interview

The lawyers are all consistent on this that I have contacted. Three year Canadian Bachelors don't cut it; it must be an Honors Canadian degree without an extra year of high school.

I know many TNs -- myself included -- who have gotten TN with a "only" a Bachelors degree. More that that is simply not a requirement. You need only show your Cdn/Mex Bach degree. Period.

In fact, chang and boos points out that for non-north american degrees, proving that one's degree is equivalent to EITHER a Cdn or US bach degree is sufficient for TN purposes.

I guess all the lawyers you speak to (about matters that don't even apply to you) will write a two page TN letter, too. Not required either.

I got my TN visa.

I learned few things:

If you meet the TN-1 visa requirement, you get the visa - SIMPLE.

Port of entry does not matter, all officers are nice, may be there some exceptions.

Letter of offer has significant impact and should be addressed to CBP.

Better to go during business hours and weekday because they have more staff on hand and some with experienced to deal with TN.

The law, from someone who practices it, is Canadian degrees will be accepted as equivalent to a US degree. Lawyers rarely get the law right in Immigration matters. Sorry that some of you got bad information from bad lawyers, but the CLEARLY states that US and Canadian degrees are equal without contest. India cannot be used to compare degrees as India plays NO role in NAFTA and hopefully never will. Quoting a Lawyer and assuming they are right, is wrong. I deal with the law ten hours a day and have worked with guys who helped shape NAFTA, most of our TN refusals are submitted with a lawyer letter attached....this is a fact.
