TN visa application: from Victoria, BC, Canada to US

Post Thu Nov 11, 2010 11:30 pm

Hi Everyone:

I am wondering if any Canadian citizens moved from Victoria, BC to the United States (San Francisco) and can help me out. My questions are:
1. What is the procedure to apply for a TN visa?
2. Where is the the port of entry?

Thanks

I was wondering if you had any luck with your questions here? I too am going from Victoria to California, and I was curious about the POE options and which may be best (Victoria Airport, Vancouver Airport, Seaplane to Seattle, Ferry to Port Angeles, Ferry to Seattle)?

Hi there,
When I came to the US in 2006 my US immigration lawyer recommended that I go through the Blaine border crossing as they were more experienced in processing there than Vancouver or San Francisco airport - and if for some reason there was a problem and they did not admit you it would be less inconvenient to turn around and drive back than miss a flight. I have since gone through Detroit-Windsor on the TN visa - first time took three attempts, but since then have had no problems.
Good luck!
