TN Visa Help!

Post Sun Jul 19, 2009 8:03 pm

Hi,
My husband received a job offer from the US for the Computers System Analyst category as per NAFTA listed jobs. He holds a Bachelors Hons degree in Computer Engineering.it is a relatively new company so we have to either consult a lawyer or make an employment letter on our own before getting in signed by the HR. I am confused over how specific we need to be when we write his job description/responsibilities. Any advice from you guys would be very helpful.

Simple!

The must contain the following:

1. Salary
2. Job duties. (what he will do on a dailey basis)
3. Job dates (from? to?)
4. Qualifications (experience, degrees, etc)
5. All on Compant letterhead.
6. Remember, this is a professional job, so make sure it looks professional.

As long as he qualifies, there should be no problem.

Thank you so much! Everyone I have talked to tells me not to go for a lawyer as his case is straightforward....as the degree as well as his work experience pretty much matches. Just one thing...In his resume shall I change his title from software developer to systems analyst....what if the officials thinks that software developer is entirely a programmer? though even his current job is not entirely that of programming!

I am an official. Don't change things to fit. A software developer is great work experience for an analyst.

Hiring a lawyer for a TN is not needed. Usually when people use a Lawyer, it raises red flags to the Officer. (unless your going to be working for a very large company with their own legal team...ie Microsoft)

Again, Good Luck and be patient, the Officer WILL grill your Husband, as the CSA position is highly abused.
