TN visa - I just got fired....what to do next?

I am a veterinarian with a TN visa who recently got terminated. I just realized that I was supposed to leave the US within 10 days. In the interim I had applied for unemployment benefits and they have contacted the USCIS to ckeck on my status. Opps! In the meantime I have been offered part time work with my TN approved employer. Can I just go work for them and be ok or have I been flagged by the USCIS and if so what does that mean for me? HELP! P.S. I do have another job lined up and I was going back to Canada in 10 days anyway to get another TN visa for that job.
