TN Visa: New Employer, start date?

Hi there,
I am changing employers and my employer letter states they would like me to start on this coming monday, I am flying up to Toronto Friday to re-apply for my VISA due to new employment. Should I change my start date so that I start in 2 weeks instead? I wonder if they may give me trouble.
