TN Visa - RN

Post Thu Apr 12, 2007 3:26 pm

I'm about to request TN status (this weekend) at the Buffalo POE. I've read a few things about a visascreen (TM) from CGFNS (commission on graduates of foreign nursing schools.). ANyone heard of this? Do I need this? I have all the other documents and had TN status in '97/'98

We're posting a delayed answer to this question, in the hopes that it may help other nurses and medical professionals who have a similar question.

Yes, the VisaScreen is required.

U.S. Immigration law now requires healthcare professionals qualified outside the U.S. to complete a visa screening process in order to qualify for TN Visas and most other work visas. This process is known as VisaScreen or Visa Credentials Assessment.

This does not simply apply to nurses, it also applies to LPNs, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Medical Technicians, Speech Language Pathologists, Speech Language Audiologists.

For more information, the TN Visa Expert Kit will assist you in successfully obtaining your TN Visa to work in the U.S.
