Hi All!

I am canadian and currently worknig in Europe. I got a TN based job offer to work for a few months in Seattle.
My connecting flight arrives in Philadelphia first and I am arrivng on Sunday afternoon.

1- Can someone confirm that I can get the TN visa processing at the Philadelphia airport and also if it can be done on Sunday evening?

2- If, just in case, the TN does not go through and I want to fly back to Europe, do they allow me to buy a ticket and leave?

This is my first TN application and since I am coming from overseas, I do not want to end up in trouble.

3- My son is Canadian / one year old. I am assuming it is not necassary to apply a TD visa for him and a visitor visa for him should be enough. The length of my work would be about six months.

Any advice would be most useful.

regards,
jnzi

it depends if you have all your paper work (transcripts, diploma, job offer, etc.) If I were you, I would enter the US as a Canadian tourist, take your connecting flight to Seattle and get settled in for a few days before getting the TN. This way, you can be sure you can enter the US and not get sent back to Europe or Canada. I know how it feels traveling with a kid.

You can get your TN at the Seattle/Vancouver border crossing. Go to Vancouver, have lunch or dinner then go to back to the border and apply for the TN. DO NOT tell them you are already in the US. Its only a 2 hour drive from Seattle to Vancouver(plus border wait times). It took me 1.5 hours to get my TN at this crossing.

Get your kid a TD, I think its just $30. Good luck!
