TN Visas for Medical Residency

I'm a Canadian in my second year at Medical School. Can I do residency training in the US in a plastic surgery program on a TN Visa? As this is a paid "job" but also educational, would it fit under the phyisician category? If not, would I be able to use a TN visa after graduation to practice in the US?
