Can I apply for my TN at any port of entry or does it have to be a Class A port of entry. I live in California-and I have a port of entry Port Hueneme-that is closer than the Mexican border.

Thank you

Mexican border

I have mixed feelings about using the Mexican border. They certainly don't see many Canadian TN applications so there's usually a lot of scurrying around to look for answers on the part of the CBP officers. On the other hand,
They're not going to be meticulous. I would always advise that you avoid the Mexican border unless its a simple application and you are familiar with the port of entry and can be ready to be stuck in Mexico if things go bad.

Also, call ahead to the mexican port that you are planning to apply at.

Some of them require appointments to ensure an Officer is available to handle your case when you arrive.

Good Luck!
