Tourist visa for USA for my spouse who is a landed immigrant

Postby lagaan » Wed May 13, 2009 6:10 am

Hello,
I'm a landed immigrant of Canada with a valid US tourist visa. Please advise the procedure and the documentation required to apply for US tourist visa for my spouse? My spouse is also a landed immigrant of canada as I had sponsered her on a family class visa.

I was concerned if she needs to live for atleast 1095 days before applying for the tourist visa.

Please advise.

Thanks.

It's basically the same procedure but you do it at a US consulate in Canada: http://www.consular.canada.usembassy.gov/nvars.asp

The Canadian physical presence test has no bearing on anything to do with US immigration procedures, but obviously if she spends time in the US it counts against the physical presence test if she's planning on applying for citizenship.
Steve.
