the my currencytransfer is a website that provides rates & compares offerings by several other website FX companies

http://www.mycurrencytransfer.com/

plug your numbers into mycurrencytransfer to see what comes up for you

accordingly the currencyfair website seems to have the best peer-peer rates, lowest costs to you & has good reviews

I use paypal and it gave me a better exchange rate than what was on the Bank of Canada. I only pay a minimal fee to paypal (we are talking a couple of pounds) so for me, it is the most efficient way of transferring funds.

I just found out about Hi FX when I sent money from Canada to GB. I paid $42 in fees on my side at the Royal Bank, and then another $15 "went missing" during the transfer. I'm sick of these high fees.

I can't post a link here ("too spammy") but use Google to check out HIFX. This is legit I am not a spammer.

My person on the GB end suggested HiFX which I don't think I can use from Canada, but maybe you can use it from the EU.

Good luck.
