Transfering Canadian nursing license to UK

Hi all,

I am a Canadian nurse headed to the UK as a student and was hoping to transfer my license to the UK so that I could work a couple of shifts a week. However, looking at the NMC website it looks as though my degree program in Canada does not have enough clinical hours to transfer.

Any Canadian nurses out there had any experience getting a UK nursing license?
