Hello Everyone

I usually post in the Canadians in th UK forum, but I have some questions for Canadians in France.

I am currently living and working in the UK under a Holidaymaker visa, but it is about to run out. I am having a fantastic time here in Europe, and I am not ready to go home yet.

I am interested in getting a Holidaymaker visa for France to stay at least another year in Europe. I know the requirements for the visa, but my questions are more about France itself.

First, I am 25, male, with basic french language abilities. My mother is french canadian, and I took french classes until grade 9, but I am still rough, to say the least! I have a diploma in computer programming, but I am willingly to do almost any job.

I am wondering what the job market is like in France? I would prefer Paris, but I will go where the money and job take me. Is it realistic to think that I could find a job, with my limited french language skills?
(I have been working on getting them better, with CDs and work books, and I don't plan to go for at least another 4-6 months.)

Is Paris as expensive as London? Are accomodations hard to find?

Just the basic stuff is what I am most curious about, but the language/job thing is my biggest concern.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!
