Hi Everyone
I am planning a surpise trip for my wife and I. I have some questions that I hope you can help me with.

1)I need a few options for Paris hotels. I want something close to all the major attractions in a safe neighborhood. Can you give me any suggestions. I dont need anything to fancy. 2 or 3 star is fine. 200-250 cdn a night

2) what is the easiest way to get form the airport ( cdg ) to my hotel?

3) An odd question: If you were to travel to paris/france again what would you change from your last trip?

4) any must see's in France?

I think the Metro goes from the airport to downtown. Like there's a few long-distance trains you can choose from, and they take you into the city and connect with the metro.

Things to see: The usual. Louvre, eifell tour, sacre cour, notre dame, etc. Maybe take a day trip to Versailles.

Places to stay - $200 CAD a night should give you a good range of places. None come to mind though, as I always stayed in hostels for like $25 a night.

I've never been to Paris, but I've been saving a newspaper cutout from years and years ago that gives you tips on a quick tour of the Louvre! Just in case I ever do get to go. Wink

Hi there,

Hubby and I went to Paris in November and loved it! We stayed at a bit pricier 4*Hotel near the Louvre called the Jolly Hotel Lotti and it was really nice and a fabulous location. We took the Eurostar so not sure about transport from the airport but I would imagine you can take the Metro, it's a great way to get around the city. We did a city tour with Paris Vision which is across from the Louvre on Rue de Rivoli, http://www.parisvision.com/?langid=en and the tours were excellent and I think good value for money. We did the city tour (by coach and river cruise) with lunch at the Eiffel Tower and really enjoyed it. We also did the guided tour of the Louvre and that was my favourite part of the trip! They have lots of different tours depending on your time, interests and budget. We did the usual touristy things and walked our butts off, it's stunning city and you can't possibly see all of it in one trip! If we could go again we would have added an extra day so that we could see Montmartre, Sacre Coeur and the Paris Opera. We had 3 days but it wasn't enough!

I hope you have a lovely trip.and wear your "stretchy" pants, the food is divine! Very Happy

Laura Smile

1. No idea about Hotel. I was living at a friend. But when my parents went they were staying at an Hotel near the Champs de Mars and the Eiffel Tower. don't remember the name, but there is a lot of Hotel to choose from. I would suggest something not too far and the rest depends on your budget.

2. For the transportation from CDG there is the RER B that will bring you to different places downtown. then you can change for the Metro depending where you need to go after.

3. If I was going there again. I would bring my girlfriend because it's a city that can be very romantic. Except that. I don't know.

4. Any must sees in France or only in Paris ? If only in Paris then what people told you. Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Les Champs Elysees, Le Sacre Coeur, Montmartre, Le Louvres, Notre Dame, Les Invalides, Opera Garnier, Cimetiere du Pere Lachaise.you should also just walk around the center, there is a lot of nice streets. You should definitly take a guide book to help you with that. If you like musueum there is a lot of them too Smile
