Traveling during L1 extension

Traveling during L1 extension

Hi,

My husband has an L1 visa and I have an L2. They expired in June, and my husband is in the middle of getting an extension on his L1. Due to personal reasons, I visited family in Canada just before my L2 expired. Now I want to return to the US while my husband's L1 is pending extension. Will I have a problem returning?

Thanks!

Depends on what you mean by the "middle of an extension", if the I-129 has been approved you can get L-2 status, otherwise at this point you have no status there. You might be able to convince them to let you in as a visitor and then change status to L-2 using I-539, it really depends on the detail of your husband's renewal.
