Trip scheduled for Ontario,Canada…need suggestions!

Post Mon Oct 05, 2009 1:35 pm

Hello All, I am a sales executive working for an advertising agency in Australia. Currently, we are a group of executives who have a corporate meeting in Ottawa. None of us have been there and we don’t know anyone close of that place. So, I was hoping to get some good suggestions on the accommodations there so that we could have a good place for our stay. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Well, I hope that the company pays for the entire trip…cause mine did not. Anyways jokes apart, I think that you have good options out there to make your stay. I had a friend of mine going to the same place and all he did was searched online and found quite a few corporate rental apartments to help him decide the best one and make a stay.

I'm sorry you're not getting much help here, I guess not many Canucks visit the Nation's Capital!

I've been once or twice, it's an awesome city, but for the life of me I can't remember which hotel I stayed in. It was a long long time ago.

The Chateau Laurier and the Lord Elgin Hotels are beautiful landmarks and are right downtown, not far from the Parliament buildings. The Westin Hotel is also right near there and very popular. Google "hotels in downtown Ottawa", then check out your choices on the map and if they are near the Parliament buildings or the Chateau Laurier or the Byward Market, you are in the right area. Anywhere you stay that is near the small downtown core will be great because you will be close to the downtown outdoor market, lots of shops and great restaurants and the beautiful Rideau canal (river) that runs through the downtown core. I used to live and work there and it is one the most beautiful Canadian cities in my opinion, besides Quebec City. I hope your meeting is near downtown though!
