Hi All,
Here is my predicament:
My wife currently live in Vancouver, Canada and we want to move to live and work in the UK. My wife holds a UK passport, so she is fine. We were going to go the marriage visa route for me but that is difficult as we don’t have current residence in the UK, which is required to have my wife sponsor me.
So, now we’re are looking at going the Ancestry route for me. My Grandfather was born in Wales in 1895. However the issue is that we cannot find his birth certificate anywhere. he has long since passed and my dad has no documents of the such for him. We have tried many routes to obtain a copy (including official and paid request to UK agencies), but because records during that time in Northern Wales weren’t overly accurate, we have come up empty at every turn.
We do not know what to do or how to proceed.
The documents we have are:
-My Grandparents marriage certificate
- My Dad’s birth certificate WHICH INCLUDES MY GRANFATHERS NAME AND PLACE OF BIRTH AS “WALES”- My Mom and Dad’s marriage certificate
- My birth certificate.
Does anyone think that this might be enough to obtain the Visa, given the fact that my Dad's b/c shows my Grandfathers’ place of birth?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
