I'm new here.
We are Canadians living in the UK on an UK Ancestry Visa and have been here for 2 years now.
However, now we have had a new baby here in the UK and all the red tape is
Since both my dh and I are Canadians, baby does not automatically get British citizenship. We have applied for baby's Canadian cit. and are told that is approx a 12 mos wait
Our family has decided they have been without us long enough and want us home for Christmas this year
We quickly applied for a passport for baby, and he was given a temporary one which can be extended once the citizenship paper arrives.
BUT now I am wondering about the visa situation? Does he need an UK Ancestry visa as well? and how do we go about applying for one, since we are already in the UK and there are "dire warnings" all over the gov websites about only applying from the native country?
Has anyone else dealt with this?
Help!
Thanks!
