UK Ancestry Spousal Visas

Hi there,

I apologize if this post is at all redundant but I couldn't find an answer in any of the older postings.

Anyways, I am applying to move to the UK on an Ancestry Visa and will also be applying to take my spouse with me on an Ancestry Spousal Visa. I am under the impression that I have to prove that I can support him, is this correct? Will he be able to work once in the UK? Would he be able to attend school as a UK resident or would he still be considered an International Student?

If anyone has any experience with any of these issues I would really like to hear about your experience.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this.

Yes you will have to prove that you will be able to support him (and you and your spouse will not be allowed to have recourse to public funds).

You and your spouse will have to pay the fees for International Student, you have to live permamently in the UK for at least 3 years before being classed as "uk student".

If you are appling for a spouse visa (http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply ... espartners) than yes he will be able to work.

Thanks for the response Joanne.

I already have read all about the Spousal Visa I'm just sort of confused because I didn't realize that you could apply for this type of visa in conjunction with the Ancestry Visa. The part about being present and settled threw me off because it doesn't sound like it would apply to an Ancestry Visa.
