UK Ancestry Visa from the USA

Post Thu Dec 10, 2009 7:37 pm

I am a Canadian in the US and have filed for my UK Ancestry Visa. Has anyone else done this? How long did it take from Los Angeles? They have had my documents since November 19th and it is now December 10th... Whats the hold up?

Thanks...

Probably because there's no one there that's done one before. Americans are not eligible for ancestry visas so they probably don't get a lot of them thru there.

When I inquired about UK ancestry they said it can take up to 7 weeks. You are well within that timelimit. If you're concerned about how long it is taking, call the consulate.
