UK Ancestry Visa- Proof of Accomodation

Post Wed Feb 13, 2008 6:48 pm

I am applying for an ancestry visa for the UK and seem to have everything in order except for the proof of accommodation. My boyfriend lives on residence at the University of Glasgow and I was planning on staying with him for a couple of weeks until I find a flat for a couple months until we move in together in June. Can i use his address for proof of accommodation? He will write me a letter stating that I can stay with him, I am just nervous because it is school housing. I have read some things about needing to provide a lease agreement/dead to a house which seem pretty impossible to get until you are actually in the country. Any thoughts/insight would really help!

Proof of accommodation

I indicated the name and address of the hotel I intended to stay in, and that seemed to suffice. Having a plan is what I suspect is critical, though others may have better advice .

Hmm. thanks for the reply. I think the addess should be ok, I think having him write a letter saying that I can stay with him may also help.
