Hi there,
I've been looking into my
UK Ancestry visa. I'm currently in
Australia finishing up my Masters degree, and my partner has just received news that he is to be transferred to London, and I am going with him!
I've got everything in order - my grandparents orginal birth certificates, my mom and I are ordering our long form birth certificates, i've already got enough money to show I can support myself.
I'm going to submit and pay for the application online before I leave here, then book a visa appointment to submit my application and do my biometrics on the day after I get back to Vancouver. So, my appointment is (hopefully) going to be July 20, and we are planning on heading to London mid-late August. Is this enough time? I have seen postings on here saying most people get approved within 5 days, but would like some advice on recent applicants.
Also, I am planning on sending in my partner's job contract in the UK - I think this will show that he is willing to support me while I find a job (if my own funds run out). Does this sound like a good idea?
As far as showing enough funds when I enter the country, I should have enough, but will also have some money coming in shortly, from some contract work I will be doing in July and also from my Supperannuation refund I will get from Australia (which is about AUD$2500). Do you think a print-off showing how much I am getting back from Australia will suffice as evidence of funds, since international transfers sometimes take a while so the money might not actually get into my account until I am in the UK?
Final question: the great job hunt question! I have already contacted a few recruitment agencies, so am planning to submit with my application evidence that I have already begun the job search. I will be a recent Master of Business (Marketing) grad upon my arrival in the UK, with experience in investor relations, corporate marketing communciations, event planning, customer relationship management, brand management, and logistics and supplier relations. Should I include my CV with my application to show that I have a wealth of education and experience and thus would be valuable to the UK workforce?
Thanks for any tips!
