UK and I have used this in the past to obtain a UK Ancestry visa. However, I have been reading in this forum that a long form birth certificate is required. Is it possible to obtain the long form or will I be sent a smaller version? I'm not sure if I already have a long form if its only a certified copy of an Entry of Birth.
Your help is appreciated. Thank you.

The "Certified copy of an entry of birth" given at the general register office, is for the UK what we would call the long form birth certificate in Canada.
It is a doument that is in landscape format the size of A4 (approx 11" x 8")
So it would appear that you have the long form which details, place of birth, mothers maiden name, fathers name & occupation
The short form document is called 'Certificate Birth' is 6" x ^6" approx & it lists just the childs name & surname, Sex, Date of Birth, place of birth with registration district. - with no details of the parents
Trust this helps what you were asking about
