			<title>UK SETTLEMENT VISA QUERY</title>

&#x3C;b&#x3E;UK SETTLEMENT VISA QUERY&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

HI THERE,

I WAS LOOKING FOR SOME ADVICE REGARDING OUR RECENT APPLICATION; WE HAVE RECENTLY RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM THE UK EMBASSY ASKING US TO SUPPLY SOME ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS.

ONE OF THE THINGS THEY HAVE ASKED FOR IS 3 MONTHS BANK STATEMENTS THAT IS NOT A PROBLEM TO SUPPLY HOWEVER THE ISSUE I HAVE IS THAT MY STATEMENTS DO NOT SHOW A SUNIFICANT AMOUNT OF FUNDS IN MY ACCOUNTS, AS WE GOT MARRIED 6/2/2010 AND THE SAVING I HAD WENT TOWARDS OUR WEDDING IN LIMA, PLANE TICKETS AND THE VISA APPLICATION SO I HAVE ATTACHED A NOTE TO THE UK EMBASSY EXPLAINING THIS.

BUT I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS IF THIS HAS DETRAMENTAL AFFECT TO OUR VISA APPLICATION?

KIND REGARDS

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Canada before 1982&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Hello , Can anyone telll me this.......I was born in 1957 in Canada, and at that time we were still under the British crown,,,the Queen was our Queen also,,,,and we did not completely sever that relationship with Britian until 1982. So.....does that mean I was born a British subject, and does that make a difference when I apply for a Visa to the UK?
Thank you.

			<title>Post Study Work Visas</title>

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Post Study Work Visas&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Anyone else been in a similar situation?
I'm Canadian but did my teacher training qualification in the UK (ie PGCE). However I cannot apply for post-study work visa until after my official completion of the course which won't be until July. This makes it very hard to apply for jobs when I have to check off the box that says I do not currently have the right to work in the UK. Even if I add a note explaining the situation I realise most employers will just skip over my application because of the risk/hassle.
Just to add to the confusion- I'm marrying my fiance who is a UK citizen this summer. I would have the right to work after getting married, but again, the timing is bad in terms of applying for jobs.

 Anyone been able to secure a job before actually receiving their post-study work visa?

Help!  Thanks.

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Ancestry Visa&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Hiya!

I'm new to this board. I'm born and raised Canadian and will be going to Toronto to apply for my visa and get my biometrics done. What should I expect? I'd just like to know what I'm walking into.

My next question.....do I have all the right paper work? From the website I think I have everything. i have my long form birth cert, my dad's and his moms(my grandmother). Also have something from the church saying that my grandparents were married. I know it says I need a marriage cert but this is all the church will send me. The last time I went to the visa office he said that would probably suffice but should write a letter saying that this is all I can get. I will be applying through her. She was born in England in 1909. Hope I made that clear enough!

And question #3......how long should I expect to wait? it says up to 12 weeks. I really hope that doesn't take that long.

Thank you in advance for any answers I get!!!

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Trying to attain UK citizenship-don't have parents passport&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Hi, I've been trying to find someone who can answer this question (I hope my question is alright for this site).

My mother was born in England in 1930, she passed away in 2004 (my father was canadian, now deceased also). Our family does not have her passport. I was born in the 1960s. I do have her birth and death certificates, my parents marraige certificate, and my birth cert also. I do not have any other documents related to my mom. I have the proper ukm forms and know that I must apply for 'uk citizenship by descent' in my case.

How do I go about acquiring a 'UK citizenship by descent' in this case? I tried calling the consolate in Ottawa and they do not accept questions, quite annoying. they simply refer one to an automated msg which basically says to 'apply using the ukm form from our website', and that's about it... ...without proper input it's very difficult to attain this citizenship when one has a special situation.

I wish to attain the dual Canada/UK citizenship(by descent) for future purposes (work/travel), and honestly, just because it is within my reach. But I have this difficult situation mentioned above, which I can't find answers for.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Canadian marital status??&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Hi There,

My British fiancee and I will be going to Canada to get married in March and while I know this has been touched on in other posts, I was wondering if anyone had any difficulty when submitting a record of Solemnization as evidence of marital status - There have been a few instances where its been mentioned that it was accepted, but has anyone had this rejected? or if anyone has any information about spousal settlement visas that hasn't been mentioned, that would be great too!

Thanks!

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Received Ancestry Visa - What do I need for UK immigration?&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Hey everyone!

I received my Ancestry Visa back in January (thanks to all who helped out with my questions!), and I've got a question for anyone who has received theirs!

What documents should I have to supply when I go through immigrations in the UK? Are the copies of what I submitted with my initial application enough? Also, what kind of questions do they ask?

Thanks guys!

Steph

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Got my British passport- now what?&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

I got my British passport today. This seems like a silly question. But now what do I do? I have no immediate plans to live or travel there.
I guess the more appropriate question is- is there anything I should or could be doing?

&#x3C;b&#x3E;VAF4A Fianc&#233; Visa&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Hey all,

I'll apologize in advance for my novel &#x3C;img src="http://www.canuckabroad.com/forums/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /&#x3E;. I've read as many previous posts as I could, but I'm not sure they've answered all my questions.

I'm in the process of finishing up my VAF4A Fianc&#233; Visa application. I'm just waiting on my bank statements to come in and I'll finalize my application (it's currently saved online) and make a WorldBridge biometrics appointment. I have to go to the Edmonton location since it's the closest one to Winnipeg. I'll drive there with a couple friends and try to make a fun weekend of it. When my bank statements come this week (they'd better!), I'll try to make an appointment for the next available weekend.

I have a couple questions though:

We don't have a wedding date or venue set in stone yet, since we both feel that it would be foolish to put a down payment without being absolutely certain I'll get approved. We toured a few venues just after New Year's and we've found one we like, so all it'll take is a phone call to reserve it. My fianc&#233;e wrote me a letter of support which states this, among other things. I think a firm date would be slightly more convincing to the authorities, but I'm just not that brave, plus it's her money on the line. Does anyone think this will this be an issue?

Should I also write a letter of intent to seek employment? I'm not allowed to work on a fianc&#233; visa, I need Further Leave to Remain first, but that comes after the wedding. Is there anything I should include with such a letter, like a diploma or a CV? She makes enough to support both of us and has more than enough in the bank, so I'm not sure this is really necessary, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

Should I get her to send me a photocopy of her passport? I had to provide her passport number for the form, but I figure that since they're the UK government, they could just type it in and pull up all her details on the computer.

This is a list of the supporting evidence I'll be including:
&#x3C;ul&#x3E;- My 2 passports (current and expired)
- My long form birth certificate
- My Certificate of Non-Marriage (proof I've never been married)
- My bank statements (3 months)
- My pay stubs (3-6 months)
- My RSP's annual statement
- My Co-op fuel equity statement (you have to show all income...)
- My criminal record check
- A list of my travels to the UK and other countries (the text box on their online form is way too small!)
- Her bank statements (5-6 months, they come quarterly)
- Her pay stubs (3-4 months)
- Her tax form from last year
- Her birth certificate
- Her letter of support
- Her mom's letter of support (to say we can live in her house)
- Land Registry documents for her mother's house ...&#x3C;/li&#x3E;&#x3C;/ul&#x3E;

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Adult child wants to join Mum in UK&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

My adult daughter wants to move to the UK to be with her family.Her brother and I have been here less than a year. She is not a student and would need a work visa. Because My fiance is on disability I am not sure if we could qualify as her sponsors. Can anyone offer advice?

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Worldbridge&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Hello all, I have completed my application and made my biometrics appt and I was given the address for Worldbridge as, Revillon Boardwalk 10310-102 Ave. Suite 412, Edmonton AB and while trying to find a map of where in the city it is I ran across a blog by someone who stated that address is wrong and it is actually somewhere else nearby. Can anyone confirm this? This blog was May 2009 and is maybe updated. But I would like to Confirm.

&#x3C;b&#x3E;family visa uk&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

I am married to an Egyptian. We have been married 19 months. I spent much of the first year with him in Egypt but have remained in England since last July apart from a holiday to visit him in December. He visited me from late August until late October on a 6 month Family visitors visa sponsored by my sister. I cannot sponsor him because I have low income etc... Can my sister, his sister in law, sponsor him to come and live with me in this country and find work? She sponsored him on the 6 month visitors visa and that was ok. She wants to do this but is it possible? She is willing to financially support him while he finds work as I am unable to do this. My income is sick benefit for myself and Child tax credit and family allowance for my daughter from a previous relationship. I have no savings but am negociating a settlement from a previous partner, who I was not married to and left prior to my marriage to my Egyptian husband,of about &#163;40000 via solicitors but this may take quite some time as a property which is in our joint names has to be sold to pay me out.

&#x3C;b&#x3E;British/Canadian moving to UK with Canadian Spouse&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Hello,

I am British/Canadian (dual) and married to a Canadian, we are living and working in Canada. I have recently accepted a work transfer to our London office and my spouse is applying for his vaf4a spousal visa.

We do not plan on arranging housing until we arrive in the UK, though my employer is paying for housing for our accommodations for 1 month so we have time to search. I will also not have a National Insurance number until I arrive in the UK.

Will we be ok to submit letters from our employers, and offer detailed information about why we do not yet have this information??

Should we book our temporary accommodation before we submit?

Any insights you could offer would be much appreciated!
