UK YMV HELP? PLEASE!

Post Tue Sep 27, 2011 11:23 am

Hey everyone.

I am so friggen confused, and I know it should be easy! I have been looking online for the past few months and cannot seem to peice it together. Can someone PLEASE make me a list of what I need to apply for the visa?! I live in Toronto, have the proper funds and a valid passport but every site I go to seems to have different forms and everything. I know to apply and pay online through WorldBridge but after that I am at a loss as to what to do next. Do they take my biometrics at the interview I make online after I apply? Is that when I bring all my necessary documents? I am freaking out and need to get it dont ASAP because my boyfriend is waiting for my in England and I am so done being confused! Please, someone help me. :(

background info from the UKBA

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/count ... angname=UK English

After that

1. apply online
2. usually in Toronto they will notify quickly to come in for the biometrics. Make sue that you have all your stuff together
3. total turnarond time baring any difficulties is about 30 days

The following link should answer any questions or worries about what they're after

Good luck

After applying online, you'll have to book an appointment with the nearest application centre. During the appointment, you'll have your biometrics taken and they'll take your documents and application form.

Then, you'll just have for the decision to be made. It usually takes 10 working days for processing a Tier YMS application in Canada.

Good luck!

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
1. VAF9 or Online Application - Completed and printed (Apply @ link below)
http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ApplyNow.aspx
2. Appendix 7 - Completed and printed
Note: These pdf documents can be found on the right hand side here: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... /applying/
3. Online self assessment for points total - Completed and printed
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/pointscalculator
5. Bank statement with official bank stamp confirming your account has £1600 dating no more than one month before you submit your application
Note: This can also be a letter from a bank manager stating that you have the funds, although I've heard if you bring and supply both it can be somewhat confusing, but better to be prepared!
6. Current passport
7. Any expired passports (if available)
8. Passport sized photo with date stamp (45mm x 35mm)

You will bring your documents to the biometrics appointment that you make on WorldBridge.

They will take your fingerprints and review your documents there. Then you send all documents away for processing!
