University student here needing info

I am a student in Canada, is it possible to get an internship in the States under a TN visa?

TN Visa is easier and requires little hassle compared to other visas.

If TN visa does not work, does J-1 work?

F1 would work, as part of study. TN is for fully paid professional activity.

My internship would be paid though. My internship would be a 3-4 month contract position.

Doesn't that qualify for the TN?

The TN Visa is for professionals.

One of the requirement is for the applicant to have a degree (in most cases) and for the job to require someone with a degree.

If its an internship, this most likely does not require you to have a degree in its very nature -- so it would not qualify for the TN.
