urgent help needed! long form ontario/UK

I'm living in the United Kingdom, on the last legs of my 'Working Holiday Maker', have decided I want to live here and apply for my right to abode (mother is born here) - I have her required documents, but I didn't realize until now (flake) that I need my long form birth certificate! I see I can do this online and have it mailed to a Canadian address in 5 days w/ the heftier charge.

Does anyone know how long this takes to get to the UK if I choose to have it mailed directly to me rather than someone in Ontario then to me?

Has anyone else ever applied for a 'Right to Abode' in the UK - any tips or a heads up I may be in need of?

Any information on this process would be much appreciated.

Thanks and apologies if this is already a forum topic there are too many to wade through right now.

It takes the normal time to courier something to UK, which you would be familiar with.

Add a week.

Pure "Right of abode" appllies to less and less people now. From what you describe, you are probably a citizen, you could however choose to enter EITHER under right of abode (and presumably become citizen after 5 years), or as a citizen. This would give you the chance to get naturalised citizenship, rather than be BritCit by descent. If you are a naturalized citizen, your British citizenship passes automatically to your children, "by descent" does not.

So, you have a choice to make.
