Hi, i know there have been quite a few posts about this subject, but i can't seem to find what I am looking for. My issue is that my boyfriend is from the UK and I have been there on visits quite a few times, 3 I think. Will this discourage them from giving me a visa, as I have been to the UK alot already and have a boyfriend over there who they might assume I want to marry while im out there, which is not the case. Has anyone else heard anything similar to this? Anyone ever been refused a visa becuase of this? Help! Im sending my visa application off tomorrow.

well, as an update for anyone else who is interested or might need the same informtion i did. I applied for the visa online, which was alot eaasier as the questions seemed more straight forward than in the printed application. I did not mention a boyfriend in england on the application, instead put him as a friend. Also i guess they didnt seem to mind that ive been over to england 6 different times already, because i just got my visa. It only took a few hours from the time they got all my stuff in the mail and i guess another 3 days until they send it all back.

I've not been on this site in months and only just read your post. My situation was similar to yours in that I had a boyfriend in the UK but I had not been there to visit, although he had been to Canada to visit me. I went the ancestry visa route as one of my grandparents was born in Scotland, but like you, I was hesitant to say that I was going there to live with my boyfriend and so only listed him as a friend and his parents signed a document stating that I could live with them upon arrival & they also provided a photocopy of their proof of ownership of their house (deed is it?) too.

The rest of the application was pretty straightforward and made sense (proving you have money to fund your inital stay and so on), like you, it only took a week from sending my application by Purolator to the Ont. UK Visa office to recieving my passport back with the Visa pasted into it, surprised me as I thought it would be months or possibly years like they indicate on their websites. Booked my flight to Manchester one way (can you believe its almost the same price as a return flight?!) three days after recieving my visa! *lol* Smile
