Hello there,
I'm leaving Toronto tomorrow morning heading to the US to sit for an exam. I'm only staying for two nights. Is this considered a "business" trip? What do I say when asked about the purpose of this trip? What visa do I need for that?
I'll also be travelling to NYC by Christmas to sit for an interview for one day.... will the visa for my exam still be valid? What visa do I get for that?
On a similar topic, someone said don't mention the interview/exam, and another one said DON'T LIE. So now I'm confused.... I have an unpaid job here in Toronto and paid rent for a place, but I don't have documents to prove either. I do have a flimsy printed e-ticket back to Canada in 2 days...
Thanks guys...

This is a business trip, witha specific purpose and duration. When asked, tell then exactly that. You will be allowed entry on B status.
Siitting an exam is not working.

you do not need a visa for either of your planned trips.

Cdns don't get visas. However they do enter on a status. Each entry would be in B (visitor) status.

That's exactly what happened. Thanks guys. I told him I'm sitting for an exam and will be back in 2 days, he gave me the B-status.
However, for the interview, I am positive that I read in many places that visitors ARE NOT ALLOWED to sit for job interviews.... so I dunno how I'll proceed then. Any help?

it is untrue that visitors cannot sit for job interviews. How else do you think anyone from Canada gets a job in US.
What is not allowed is saying you are going on a 'visit' and then trolling 'round the country looking for work, or stuff your suitcase full of resumes. That is called lying about one's intentions.
If you go to the border witha an interview letter in hand, a clear and stated itinerary, you will be let in without problems.
