US & Canadian Residency, Living in Canada, working for US

I am a US Citizen about to move back to Canada. I also hold a PR Card so I am eligible to work in both countries. My company based in the US has offered me a teleworking opportunity to stay employed with them. I assume that I need to pay Canadian taxes as I will be resident in Canada for over 6 months this year (and have my family and household in Canada too), and file a tax return as a US Citizen.

What do I (and my company) need to do to make sure my taxes are correctly paid?

Any thoughts on this situation?

Have a look in the US section, tons of threads covering this situation.

Basically, if they don't want to set up a US payroll, you register as self-employed in Canada and do the Canadian payroll withholding yourself. In the US the situation remains the same, if you do work for them when you are physically there, you go on their payroll and they issue you a W-2 and you claim a foreign tax credit in Canada.

On the US end you file a 1040 every year and a 2555 or 2555-EZ if your income is below the foreign exclusion limit ($87,600).
