US Citizen/Canadian PR driving question.

Post Mon Oct 17, 2011 3:01 pm

Since Canada requires all permanent residents to drive Canada-plated cars, I'll need to have those on my car.

Do you know if the US has a similarly ridiculous rule to Canada's, where - as a US citizen - I'm not allowed to drive Canadian-plated cars in the US?

Thanks for any thoughts you may have!

Its not "permanent resident" that is the issue. It is 'resident", as defined by your DL.

If you live in US, you can drive a US-plated car into canada, and if you live in canada, you can drive a Cdn-plated car into US.

Anything else is subject to importation.
