So why do I feel like I walked into a party I wasn't invited to?
I really thing you are being a bit too sensitive. I understand what it's like to live apart from your loved one but in order to make things work for the both of you, you have to put all emotions aside. immigration is really not concerned about circumstances and how you feel when it comes to intending immigrants. You should think with your mind and not your heart because you want to be able to get things done in a concise manner where immigration is concerned. After all, they are ultimately the ones that have the final say in regards to who can come and live permanently in their country. I hope everything works out for you both GOOD LUCK
